Antje Boetius

Prof. Dr. Antje Boetius is the director of Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Center for Polar and Marine Research as well as Vice Director of the Excellence Cluster of MARUM Center for Marine Environmental Sciences, University of Bremen. She is also an active researcher at Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology, Bremen. She has diverse field of expertise, such as marine microbial ecology, polar sea ecology, effects of sea-ice retreat and seafloor biogeochemistry, among others.

Lorenzo Corsini

Lorenzo is Co-founder and CEO of R&D of PhagoMed, a biotech company developing pharmaceuticals to treat bacterial infection based on bacteriophages and endolysins. From 2008 to 2017, he worked for the Boston Consulting Group in roles of increasing responsibility. In his latest function as a Principal, he was advising pharmaceutical companies on topics ranging from corporate strategy to efficiency and quality in manufacturing. Previously, he did his PhD at EMBL Heidelberg, studying pre-mRNA splicing with NMR and X-ray crystallography. Lorenzo has diploma degrees in biochemistry and business administration.

Since 2017, Dr. Wiebke Esdar is member of the German Federal Diet and member of the SPD parliamentary group. She is member of the Committee for Education, Research and Technology Assessment as well as member of the Finance Committee. Until 2017 she led the research project "HeLGA" - Heterogeneity-Oriented Teaching - Conditions of Success and Requirements. In 2015 she received her PhD in psychology at the University of Bielefeld.

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Angela D. Friederici is a founding director and scientific member of the Max Planck Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience (since 1994), honorary professor at the Universities Leipzig (Psychology), Potsdam (Linguistics) and Charité Berlin (Medicine) as well as vice president of the Max Planck Society. In her research she tries to identify the functional architecture of language and its neuroanatomical basis in the mature and the developing brain.

Manfred Krifka

Prof. Dr. Manfred Krifka is the director of Leibniz Zentrum Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft (ZAS) since 2001.  He is a professor at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin since 2000. His research includes, among others, Semantic, Syntax, Pragmatic, and Structure of Information. Manfred Krifka is editor in chief of several prestigious journals, such as Theoretical Linguistics and Linguistics and Philosophy.

Since 2018, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Laura De Laporte is a professor in polymer biomaterial at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) Aachen. Her current research focuses on biomimetic materials for advanced medical systems. She is specialized in chemical and biomedical engineering with expertise in biomaterials, tissue engineering, gene therapy, drug delivery, nerve regeneration and angiogenesis. Her research group works on the development and fabrication of biomaterials for tissue regeneration.
